She looked at him in all her glory; all pretty and well put and said “what do you want from me? What more in my life do you want to take? After all you have my heart- which by the way you fucked up and now I’m struggling to restore it. Or its me, as in me?” Pointing her finger at her self.

“But we both know you already fucked me too. So what do you want?”

She took a sip of water from the glass whose ice had melted away due to the waiting it had faced and the heat, as he watched her in silence.
He was so quiet, you would think she was talking to herself. He never stopped looking at her with that face of a man whose tail is in his mouth.

As she placed her glass down from her lips, he murmured, “I am so..”
“Huh! Were you trying to say sorry. Do you even understand what that means?” she snapped.

“Anyway I had not finished.” She continued. She was in control and he was not going to sideline her. She wouldn’t let him.

“I love you and I am in love with you might be forever, but that is my problem and I am sure as hell you are using that against me. You see I didn’t choose this, for sure I would have chosen a different path but I guess this is what I was destined for. And because of that I am choosing to let you go your ways. Try your lack somewhere else…find another specimen to torture with your lies, lack of commitment and unsure needs.”

Just like that she was done. You could see she was not very certain about this decision but she had this ‘i can do this’ look on her face.

She stood up, paid for her water and without another word walked towards me and said, “Don’t let love win, its a trap” and she left.

Still paused and wondering why of all people in the cafe she choose me to say that – was it because she saw me tapping the conversation or was my own failure pinned on my face like a tattoo? What did she see that prompted that warning my way?

I will never know….
