Watching movies to me is like reading a book. I am looking for ideas, views and looking into thought processes of producers and scriptwriters.
This year I started watching Korean Dramas.
My subconscious was tired of the western movies that didn’t really have new ideas to present on the table for me. But out of my subconscious, I presenting the interest to the dramas as purely a source of entertainment.
Recently I reconciled with my subconscious and we agreed that we were learning a lot more than expected from dramas we watched and that my next project coming up next year is purely inspired by an idea picked from them.
I have even enrolled myself in a Korean class so that I don’t miss anything in translation.
To me, this is learning. Acquiring knowledging and ideas that can impact or improve my surroundings or even the whole world.
As I went through some LinkedIn posts this morning, I found a post that had a problem that was solved in a KDrama that I had watched.
Int he KDrama a lady as described above was disqualified because she had taken off time to look after her family. She got divorced and needed to get back into the work field but was not hired because she had that gap. She decided to get hired as an intern, meaning she removed her high education levels from her CV and took up a job for High School candidates. They hired her but her skills were being looked at suspiciously and overtime she was fired on grounds of misrepresentation of qualifications. This left a dent in the organization as her ideas were the best for the project they were working on and needed her for implementation but Human Resource couldn’t allow as there were policies and guidelines to follow while hiring. In the end, the Managing Director created a Special Hiring policy that only he could employ that cover all the loopholes in the hiring policies that could let him have her back to the organization.
So we read about a project I will be launching next year, remember this post. Because the idea behind the project would be influenced by a Korean Drama that I watched and thought it can be actualized.
ION I like Lee Jong-suk (naneun ijongseog-eul joh-ahanda) He is my best Korean actor so far. I have watched everything I could find that he acted in. He is just so good.
